The Outstanding Students Competition (OSC) has been held every year by the Ministry of Education Youth and Sport and initiated by Samdech Decho Hun Sen in order to provide 12th and 9th grade students with the chance of challenging with each other in the field of Khmer literature, mathematics and physics.
In academic year 2008-2009, the national OSC was held in Sihanouk Province with 66 Phnom Penh participants and hundreds of provincial participants. The examination lasted for three days from 01st-03rd April 2009.
This year, 9 students of Toul Tom Poung High School (TTP) successfully got through the capital OSC and participated in the national OSC. They are: Beside the competition, we made several friends with other high school students. Although the national OSC lasted for one week, we had many memorable and valuable experiences that I will never forget.
On 04th April 2009 at Golden Hill hotel 3:30pm, after three days of tiring examination, we had a photograph taken of our 9 TTP students and 2 Chba Om Pov students, who were our roommates.
On 06th April 2009 at Angkor Beer Factory 8:30am, we visited and witnessed the line of coke production and we got a bottle of coke free. We had made more friends, who are from Phsar Deum Thkov, Intrak Tevy, Sento Mok, Wat Koh, Samky, and Beltei.
On 07th April 2009 at Golden Beach Restaurant 5:00pm, the result were finally released. Only 4 of TTP students passed. It was just a satisfactory result. However, we had done our best. I hope in 3 years the four 9th grade students still continue the spirit of OSC and succeed better than us. On the right was Mrs. Pov Samay, the deputy director of TTP.
